Oh, entrepreneurs. We have issues with everything, don’t we? It’s not uncommon for me to start working with a business owner and uncover energy issues that are blocking them at practically every turn in their business.
Think about it this way: we all must be a little bit crazy to choose this life, right?
Well, crazy like a fox anyway.
But it’s true that business tends to bring up and shine a big spotlight on any issues you may already have. These issues can show up with any of the seven chakras (you can get a taste of all seven with my free download about the chakras and business), but these are the three I see come up most often.
1. Issues with power (Solar Plexus)
Your solar plexus chakra, when it’s unblocked and flowing like it should, is all about showing up in the world and accepting that you are a powerful person. But waaaaay too often, we entrepreneurs shackle ourselves with our old issues around our power.
Maybe you were told you should be seen and not heard, maybe you struggle with imposter complex, or maybe you have an upper limit problem, where when one thing in your life goes well, you subconsciously sabotage everything else.
This can manifest in different ways. Maybe you turn down that incredible speaking gig because you’re not “ready” to speak on stage. Maybe you just don’t ask for that sale or that partnership that would take you to the next level. Or maybe, as soon as your business starts really taking off, your personal life goes straight to hell.
2. Issues with support (Sacral)
When your sacral chakra is blocked, you see issues around deserving to have things the way you want them (and receiving from others).
One of my clients had the issues of giving away too much to her employees. She wanted to make sure that participating in her business worked for them – in fact, it seemed like several of her team were simply moonlighting with her before their primary careers got off the ground.
I asked her about one business process and she said that was the way her employee liked doing it. My client had subordinated her needs to everyone around her, and she always came in last. She had a half million dollar business and no one was there for her.
When I encouraged (yelled at) her to hire people who supported her, one of her first ideas was to bring on a student intern so that she could teach what she knew. I put the kibosh on that pretty quickly, because I knew she needed to learn how to receive support before giving everything she had.
This is SO common with entrepreneurs. Often it manifests as micromanagement, because we don’t believe that anyone could possibly do things as well as we can. But that kind of thinking stands directly in the way of growth, because there’s only so many hours in a day that you can work.
3. Issues with speaking out (Throat)
The throat chakra has to do with speaking out, admitting your voice is different and owning who you are.
This tends to come up a lot when entrepreneurs (especially women) try to make their business “sound” like someone else, are afraid to stand up against the general wisdom in their niche, or don’t speak out when someone’s trying to take advantage of them in a business deal.
Women in particular tend to be worried that they’ll offend someone, or are afraid of rocking the boat. I see this sometimes when people don’t want to raise prices on longtime clients — even if their rates have gone up dramatically since the client started. They don’t want to speak up and let that client know that things have changed.
But not speaking up is a recipe for resentment and disaster all the way around.
Do you see yourself in any of these? Maybe more than one? I am going to be opening up my Money Chakra course again, so go ahead and download that Money Chakra ebook if you want to be kept up-to-date on that!
